This Read_Me file will let you know some of the things that did not make it into our pre-printed materials or are important enough to mention again. Please read through the brief descriptions, then get started finding out how to make your very own iron-on designs!

Photo Pens/specialty inks
For best results, use the regular color ink cartridges that came with your printer. Iron-on transfer media is not intended for use with photo and specialty ink cartridges. When used together, you may notice hue changes that result in a slight yellowing of your picture or photograph when transferred to T-shirts (or other items).

Using photos with iron-on transfer paper
Avoid using photos with dark areas as the details will be difficult to see when printed on iron-on transfer media.

TIPS FOR APPLYING YOUR IRON-ON DESIGNS
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE IRONING INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME IN THE BOX, BE SURE TO PRINT OUT THE 2 PAGES OF INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE SOFTWARE.
We strongly recommend adult supervision for the ironing process. It is very important that you follow the ironing instructions exactly.
Remember, you must USE LIGHT COLORED FABRICS because the transfers are basically transparent and the color of your T-shirt or item will show through the colors you printed in your design.
For best results, make sure your iron is very hot and you are ironing onto a very flat surface with no wrinkles or seams under the iron while you are applying the transfer.
The quality of your iron-on transfer will vary based on the printer and iron you use and the items/fabric you transfer the design onto.
Avoid ironing more than 5 items at a time in one area as the surface may get too hot and possibly scorch.

Printing on iron-on transfer paper:
Note: PrintPaks Super Awesome Iron-ons Kit software automatically reverses the pictures and text so that they will be correct after they are ironed onto a shirt.
Do not select printer driver settings that will reverse the images and text because PrintPaks already does this for you.

Curled paper:
If the edge of the iron-on transfer paper is curled, straighten it before loading it into the printer. Load 1 sheet of paper at a time and gently guide it into the printer if your printer has difficulty picking it up.

Starting up the software:
Each system configuration is different and may affect the speed and performance. Be patient when starting the software, if it takes more than 1 minute, try re-booting your system and starting the software again.

The Super Awesome Iron-Ons Kit Help file is included in the PrintPaks Program group or folder. You can print the complete help file for easy access to the information or further reference. Double-click on the file icon and print it from the word processing program - make sure to load regular paper into your printer.

Re-booting your system:
If you encounter problems when using this software, it is best to re-boot the system to eliminate any accumulated memory problems.

Using the HP DeskJet 560C Printer:
You may want to "pre-load" your iron-on transfer paper by putting the paper into the paper tray, adjusting the guides, and then selecting the "Load/Eject" button. The paper will load and be ready to print your iron-on designs once you send the file from the software to the printer.
